Stations of the Cross, a Lenten devotion that follows the 14 steps that Jesus took to Calvary, beginning with the Garden of Gethsemane and concluding when he is laid in the tomb, will be prayed in many parishes across the diocese on the Fridays of Lent. 

The Knights of Columbus will sponsor a fish fry every Friday during Lent (March 7-April 11) at the Madawaska Knights of Columbus Hall, 166 13th Avenue in Madawaska.

Knights of Columbus Council 334 will hold fish fry dinners on the Fridays of Lent, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., in the hall of St. Augustine Church, 75 Northern Avenue in Augusta.

The Knights of Columbus will be serving Friday fish dinners on the Fridays of Lent at 4:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of St. Thomas School, 69 North Avenue in Sanford.

The St. Hyacinth Daughters of Isabella will offer haddock dinners on the Fridays of Lent in the hall of St. Hyacinth Church, 268 Brown Street in Westbrook.

The St. Anne Knights of Columbus will serve haddock dinners on the Fridays of Lent, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the hall of St. Anne Church, 299 Main Street in Gorham.

The Way of the Cross will be prayed every Friday during Lent at 5:30 p.m. at St Bruno-St Remi Church, 174 Main Street in Van Buren.

St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Bangor will be serving fish chowder on Lenten Fridays in the church hall of St. John Church, 217 York Street in Bangor, following the 5:30 p.m. Mass.

Father Seamus Griesbach and others will teach traditional palm weaving techniques in commemoration of Palm Sunday in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception's Guild Hall.

Following the 4 p.m. Palm Sunday Mass at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, people can stay and learn how to weave palms into a crown of thorns.

Bishop James Ruggieri will celebrate Palm Sunday Mass at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland.

Palm Weaving with Fr. Reggie Brissette, a beloved tradition, will be held at 1 p.m. on Palm Sunday in the St. Hyacinth Church Hall in Westbrook.

Sunday vespers and lessons will be prayed on the Sundays of Lent, March 16 - April 13, at 5:30 p.m.. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street in Portland.  

A Tenebrae Service will be held on Palm Sunday, April 13, beginning at 7 p.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough.

A Tenebrae Service will be held on the Wednesday of Holy Week at Holy Family Church in Greenville.

A Tenebrae service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Windham on the Monday of Holy Week at 7:30 p.m.

A Tenenbrae service will be held on the Monday of Holy Week at 7:30 p.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norway.
