College Propaedeutic Year
St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Ambler, PA
I grew up in a Mount Chase just outside the shadow of Mt. Katahdin. I am the youngest of four children, and we were all homeschooled.
From a young age, I always had a special draw towards my faith. One of my earliest memories is playing Mass in our family closet with my siblings, and I always wanted to be the priest so I could drink all the grape juice.
My family was always busy between school, Church, and working at our family grocery store. From a young age, I was involved in my local parish, where I began altar serving, which evolved into music ministry, which is a pillar of my faith. My whole family has worked at our store, where we kids started at the mature age of six, and we'll all tell you we got paid in chocolate milk.
I always felt a draw to the priesthood but did not take it seriously until I got to high school, where everything became busier and more pressing. In the noise is where I learned who God truly was by seeking his silence in the Mass, reconciliation, adoration, music, and in my ongoing learning of my faith.
I graduated a year early from high school, and in my senior year of high school, i truly started diving into my faith and discerning my vocation. In my high school years, I was very involved in my home cluster, where I altar served, lectored, co-led a youth choir, served on the pastoral council, and was a music minister. Serving my parish in this way only provided me with more opportunities to grow in my faith and grow in love for his Church.
I credit where I am all to Christ, especially through the sacraments, which have been the heartbeat of my life. I believe the Lord wants me to discern his will more seriously, and I am very excited for what he has laid before me.
God bless you, my Brother/Sister in Christ.
