Rorate Caeli Mass - Portland

A Rorate Caeli Latin Mass will be celebrated on December 13 at 5:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph Oratory in Portland.

A Rorate Caeli Mass is a special, candlelit Advent Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary traditionally held before dawn. The Mass celebrates Mary's role in bringing the Light of Christ into the world. 

Rorate Caeli is Latin for “Drop down, ye heavens” and are the opening words of the Introit (which is an opening psalm or antiphon) coming from Isaiah 45:8.
