Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a special Jubilee Year of Saint Francis, running from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, to mark the 800th anniversary of the saint’s passing into eternal life. Bishop Ruggieri has designated St. Mary of the Visitation Parish in Houlton as one of three sites in Maine that have been named a holy site for this Jubilee. Pilgrims who come to us in prayer may receive the graces of the year, and we have a joyful opportunity to open our doors wide.

The Christmas season is a time to reflect on the gift of salvation that is born with him, including the fact that Christ was born to die for us.
