Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter, the Octave of Easter, which this year is April 12, 2026. Below you will find a list of celebrations taking place in the Diocese of Portland.

All Saints Parish, Brunswick
St. Mary Church, 144 Lincoln Street, Bath - A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will begin with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 2 p.m., confessions will be heard from 2:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., and at 2:30 p.m. there will be a Holy Hour, which will include readings rom St. Faustina's Diary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Good Shepherd Parish, Saco
St. Joseph Church, 178 Elm Street, Biddeford - A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held Sunday, April 12, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. It will include recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation, and readings.
Holy Family Parish, Greenville
Holy Family Church, 145 Pritham Avenue, Greenville - The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be recited on Saturday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m., prior to the 4 p.m. Mass. On Sunday, April 12, a Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will begin at 2:30 p.m. and include exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the sacrament of reconciliation, the recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and Benediction.
Parish of the Holy Eucharist, Falmouth
Holy Martyrs of North America Church, 266 Foreside Road, Falmouth - The Parish of the Holy Eucharist will hold a solemn celebration of Divine Mercy from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, at Holy Martyrs of North America Church. The celebration will begin with eucharistic adoration and including veneration of the Divine Mercy image, reading from St. Faustina’s diary, recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, meditation, Litanies of the Sacred Heart and Divine Mercy, and Benediction. The opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation begins at 3 p.m. and continues throughout the service.
In addition, the parish invites you to join in praying the Divine Mercy Novena, which begins on Good Friday. For each of the nine days, our Lord gave St. Faustina a different intention. The novena and chaplet will be prayed following all the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, and following the daily morning Masses and scheduled adoration from Easter Sunday to Divine Mercy Sunday. (You are encouraged to do Day 2 of the novena on your own). Novena brochures will be available at each of the parish's four church on Palm Sunday. Parish of the Precious Blood, Caribou
The Parish of the Precious Blood will hold a Divine Mercy Sunday celebration beginning at 3 p.m. at St. Denis Church, 147 Main Street in Fort Fairfield. The commemoration of the feast day will include adoration followed by the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Old Town
Parishioners are invited to begin praying the Divine Mercy Novena on Good Friday, April 3. The novena will conclude on Divine Mercy Sunday with a program at Holy Family Church, 429 Main Street in Old Town, that will include a Holy Hour and the sacrament of reconciliation beginning at 2 p.m., followed by prayers including the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3 p.m.
St. Agnes Parish, Pittsfield
St. Agnes Church, 238 Detroit street, Pittsfield - A Divine Mercy Sunday prayer service will be held at St. Agnes Church beginning at 2:30 p.m. to pray together to ask God for his mercy on our souls, the Catholic Church, our country, the world, all Christians, and individual intentions. Eucharistic adoration will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and other prayers from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
St. Anthony of Padua Church, Jackman
St. Faustina Church, 370 Main Street, Jackman - The Feast of Divine Mercy will be celebrated with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the sacrament of reconciliation, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Benediction beginning at 10:30 a.m., prior to the 11 a.m. Mass
St. Brendan the Navigator Parish, Camden
St. Bernard Church,150 Broadway, Rockland and St. Francis of Assisi Church, 81 Court Street, Belfast - St. Brendan the Navigator Parish will hold Divine Mercy Sunday celebrations beginning at 2:30 p.m. at St. Bernard Church in Rockland, and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Belfast. The celebrations will include recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and other prayers, along with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
St. John Paul II Parish, Scarborough
St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough - A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will begin at 2 p.m. with the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation. That will be followed at 3 p.m. by a eucharistic Holy Hour with the sung Divine Mercy Chaplet. The Holy Hour will conclude with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
St. John Vianney Parish, Fort Kent
St. John Vianney Parish will hold a eucharistic Holy Hour at St. Louis Church, 26 East Main Street, Fort Kent, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
St. Joseph Parish, Bridgton
St. Joseph Church, 225 South High Street, Bridgton - A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and include the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation, adoration, and the praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
St. Joseph Parish, Farmington
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at St. Joseph Church, 133 Middle Street in Farmington, beginning at 3 p.m. with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. That will be followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet., the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation, Benediction at 4:45 p.m., and Mass at 5 p.m.
St. Louis Parish, Portland
St. Louis Church, 279 Danforth Street, Portland - A eucharistic Holy Hour with the praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be held at St. Louis Church in Portland on Divine Mercy Sunday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
St. Mary of the Visitation Parish, Houlton
St. Mary of the Visitation Church, 110 Military Street, Houlton - A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will include the sacrament of reconciliation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 2:30 p.m., the praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet in son at 3 p.m., and Benediction at 3:30 p.m.
St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Bangor
A Divine Mercy Holy Hour with the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be held at St. Teresa Church, 425 South Main Street in Brewer, on Sunday, April 12, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Sanford
St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish will hold a Divine Mercy Sunday celebration beginning at 3 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 66 North Avenue in Sanford. It will include the singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
