St. John Vianney Novena for Vocations - Bradley, Old Town, Orono, Penobscot Nation

In celebration of the August 4 Feast Day of St. John Vianney, the Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord invites the faithful to gather to pray the St. John Vianney Parish Novena in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

The novena will be prayed each day from July 27-August 4 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the churches of the parish. The schedule is as follows:

Day 1 - Monday, July 27 - Holy Family Church, 429 Main Street, Old Town
Day 2 - Tuesday, July 28 - Our Lady of Wisdom Church, 83 College Avenue, Orono
Day 3 - Wednesday, July 29 - Holy Family Church, Old Town
Day 4 - Thursday, July 30 - St. Ann Church, 84 Main Street, Bradley
Day 5 - Friday, July 31 - Holy Family Church, Old Town
Day 6 - Saturday, August 1 - St. Ann, 6 Down Street, Penobscot Nation (Indian Island)
Day 7 - Sunday, August 2 - Our Lady of Wisdom Church, Orono
Day 8 - Monday, August 3 - Holy Family Church, Old Town
Day 9 - Tuesday, August 4 - Our Lady of Wisdom Church, Orono

St. John Vianney, also known as the Curé of Ars, was a French Catholic priest (1786-1859) known for his deep devotion to the Church and his belief in the power of the sacrament of confession. He is said to have spent 11 or 12 hours a day, if not more, hearing confessions. He is the patron saint of parish priests.
