St. James School, Biddeford, Maine is seeking a passionate, faith-filled, student-centered professional as our next Administrative Assistant. Our present Administrative Assistant is retiring after an illustrious 37 year career in that position.

This is a full-time position concurrent with the school year. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Principal. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Operation of the Main Office, including phones and front door access;
  • Receipt and management of funds and mail;
  • Documentation of visitors to the school, attendance additions, contractor access, and inspections;
  • Student and staff services
  • Maintenance of student records
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Principal

Requirements of the job include, but are not limited to:

  • Experience in an office setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Technology skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals in a welcoming manner
  • Ability to observe and assess student progress, keep detailed records, and communicate with parents

The ideal candidate is a practicing Roman Catholic who is passionate about working in a Catholic School setting and assisting in a faith-filled foundation for our youngest students.

Experience is preferred. The ability to communicate and work effectively with students, parents and school personnel is paramount.
